Hillhurst Home Transformation
A Full Transformation, Inside and Out
This two-story Los Angeles home was given a complete refresh — a thoughtful whole-house renovation that reworked the interior and expanded how the home lives outdoors.
The scope brought together several kinds of work under one project: a redesigned kitchen, a full interior remodel, new window installations throughout, and two exterior additions — a new rear attached patio cover and a balcony deck. Each piece was permitted and built to fit the existing structure while modernizing the way the home looks and functions.
A Brighter, More Open Interior
Inside, the remodel focused on light and flow. New windows were installed throughout, pulling daylight deep into the living spaces and framing the views around the home.
The main living areas were reworked into a bright, open plan — a great room that carries the vaulted ceiling and connects cleanly to the spaces around it.
A Kitchen Redesigned From the Ground Up
The kitchen was fully redesigned — a centerpiece of the renovation. A large island anchors the room, wrapped in custom cabinetry, stone counters, and a statement tile backsplash that gives the space its character.
Every system behind the finishes was updated to support the new layout, so the finished kitchen performs as well as it looks.
Extending the Home Outdoors
Outside, two additions expanded how the home is used. A new rear attached patio cover created a shaded outdoor room off the main level, and a new balcony deck opened up the upstairs to the surrounding views.
Both additions were engineered and permitted to tie into the existing two-story structure — finished to match the transformed home. Browse the full gallery below.
